Jack’s Music Lab is the brain child of Jeromy Darling and Bart Phillips, the lead singers of both ODYC & The Great Upset. Their decision to leave faith and family as their top priorities left them with a question: “How do we fulfill our dreams for music while still being good husbands and fathers?” The answer: start their own label. Bart’s father Jack was the financier of their first endeavor (ODYC’s first record, Black Sun Rising) and in his honor, Jack’s Music Lab was born.
The initial plan to use Jack’s Music Lab as a vehicle to drive the business end of ODYC and The Great Upset quickly turned into something bigger. With a small studio in Savage, MN and a small group of other talented musicians (like Peter Welle and Amber Halland), the decision was made to open up Jack’s Music Lab to other artists with similar goals and aspirations – namely keeping full control of their music and creative direction while using Jack’s Music Lab as a vehicle for cross promotion and organization.
What’s Next?
In a word: Lots. With ODYC and The Great Upset delving into films this year and a new record looming from Amber Halland – the plan is to keep expanding, innovating and making great music.
